What is Pathfinder: KingMaker #DnD #CRPG
We've just started playing #PathfinderKingMaker and are just tickled pink by the gameplay so far. Its very immersive lore and story driven. So for you table top fans into the #BaldursGate and #ForgottenRealms scene that want more story with your LARP over the combat heaviness of #DnD, this may be for you.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the first single-player isometric CRPG set in the world of a top-selling D&D type role-playing game by #Paizo, and created by #Owlcatgames. You set out as a mercenary for the sole purposes of routing out trouble in the Stolen Lands against the #StagLord with the promise that such actions will not only give you a kingdom to rule yourself, but the set you on that path. And do they ever.
Being a tribute to such classics as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, it brings back memories of beloved gameplay mechanics and embarks the player on a hand-crafted, story-driven adventure. Become introduced to the rich universe of #Pathfinder as a newcomer or explore famous locations familiar to any fan of the original tabletop game. Walk your path through the legendary Stolen Lands and meet iconic characters, ready to accompany you on your arduous journey. Gather the perfect party, dive into a great variety of dungeons, and defeat some of the deadliest creatures this world has ever seen.
The story driven narrative of #Pathfinder is extremely palpable with your decisions determining outcomes right away that can immediately impact your character, decisions, and the lives of many characters in the realms of the Stolen Lands. As you make decisions your alignment will noticeably shift and depending who you choose to accompany you into the fray, this can impact their opinion of you noticeable and in some cases to detrimental effect. Witness how your decisions affect the environment and the people inhabiting it, with environmental impacts coupled upon real time day and night cycles.
The game doesn't stop there however, Establishing your kingdom in the stolen lands, takes the role from both the RPG element and into the RTS scene as you claim new territories, and build towns and cities to be a wise ruler or a heavy-handed tyrant.
#Owlcat has been hard at work continuing to make DLC and content for this game that launched back in 2018, so its still very fresh and very engaging, as it will harken back to classic style gameplay seen in other #CRPGs. Early access and Beta is now live for the next installment of the #PathfinderKingMaker series, Wrath of the Righteous, and we just can't wait to play it!
Originally started as a #kickstarter campaign by #Owlcat, #PathfinderKingMaker has raised $2,054,339.00 for its upcoming DLC, Wraith of the Righteous, well over its goal of a pledged $300,000.00 for the #CPRG #pathfinder project and series they have in mind with over 35,092 backers. Impressive and exciting given that some of their stretch goals will see new and exciting elements added to the game. Like we said they have no intention on stopping and keeping this game as fresh as possible and it shows. This all speaks to how well the originally base game was received and still enjoyed. The community could not be more involved.
